Expected Learning Outcomes

D1 – Knowledge and Understanding

The student knows and understands the Bobath Concept, which
is a problem-solving approach aimed at assessing and treating individuals with functional, movement, and postural control disorders caused by central nervous system injury.
D2 – Ability to Apply Knowledge and Understanding
The student explores the theoretical aspects underlying the Concept and translates these assumptions into clinical and technical skills
applicable to the rehabilitation of adult brain injuries.
D3 – Independent Judgment
The student is able to integrate neurophysiological,
physiopathological, and clinical knowledge to interpret the functioning of the central nervous system and recognize any functional alterations. The student demonstrates critical thinking and awareness of the limitations of his or her knowledge.
D4 – Communication Skills
The student correctly and appropriately uses terminology
related to physio-neuropathological processes and rehabilitation interventions, communicating clearly with teachers, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
D5 – Learning Ability
The student is capable of independently deepening their
study of the methodologies and techniques of Neurological Rehabilitation, maintaining professional development on new findings in neurophysiology.

Frontal/traditional teaching. Laboratory.

Required Prerequisites

Knowledge of Anatomy, Neurophysiology, Kinesiology and Clinical Neurology.

1) Historical introduction and theoretical basis of the bobath concept

2) Central mechanisms of postural control

3) Positioning of the patient in the acute phase

4) Supine-seated transition and bed-wheelchair transfer

5) Selective proposals for the trunk

6) proposal from sitting to standing

7) Erect station and verticality

8) The path, biomechanical and neurophysiological bases

9) Facilitation of the rhythmic succession, length and cadence of the step
