Educational Goals

The main objective of the Degree Programme is to provide students with scientific knowledge across the different fields of human physical activity, with particular emphasis on the technical-sport, preventive, managerial and educational areas.

  • In the technical-sport area, students acquire fundamental knowledge of the theories and teaching methods related to the various sports disciplines, particularly those practised at recreational and amateur level.

  • In the preventive area, students develop the knowledge required to maintain optimal physical fitness throughout life and to prevent conditions associated with sedentary lifestyles through the promotion of active and healthy lifestyles.

  • In the managerial area, students acquire basic legal and administrative knowledge concerning the regulation and organisation of physical activity in the sports, recreational, educational, preventive and industrial sectors.

  • In the educational area, students gain knowledge of expressive and communicative approaches to physical education, with particular attention to the development of motor abilities, skills and motor competence during childhood and adolescence.

These objectives are achieved through lectures and interdisciplinary seminars, designed to encourage students to establish both longitudinal and cross-disciplinary connections among the contents of the different subjects; through independent study based on post-secondary level textbooks and other teaching materials provided by lecturers or independently sourced by students; through technical and practical demonstrations in laboratories or in the field, together with individual practical activities aimed at developing hands-on competence in the topics covered by the programme; and through training placements at qualified facilities specialising in preventive and adapted physical activity, sports clubs and organisations, and companies operating in the field of human movement sciences.

The programme is completed by the preparation of an original written and/or multimedia final project, which demonstrates the student’s ability to independently collect information in their field of study, process and integrate it within a multidisciplinary perspective, and communicate the results clearly and concisely.
