The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Human Movement Sciences (L-22) trains professionals who are able to work in the fields of physical activity, sport and well-being promotion, with skills in the design, delivery and evaluation of exercise programmes aimed at people of different ages and physical conditions.

Physical Activity Specialist for Health and Well-being

Role in the workplace

Graduates in Human Movement Sciences are able to:

  • design and deliver physical activity and sports programmes aimed at promoting health and improving quality of life;

  • develop interventions for the prevention of conditions associated with sedentary lifestyles through the promotion of active lifestyles;

  • implement post-rehabilitation physical activity programmes aimed at restoring and maintaining physical fitness;

  • design and coordinate physical activity programmes for different age groups, taking into account gender-specific characteristics and the physical conditions of participants;

  • plan interventions for the prevention and correction of postural problems;

  • design and evaluate adapted physical activity programmes for people with disabilities or with stable and clinically controlled health conditions;

  • contribute to the promotion of health and physical activity within the community.

Skills associated with the role

Graduates possess the scientific and methodological skills required for the planning, delivery and evaluation of individual and group physical activity programmes, for educational, preventive, recreational purposes and for the promotion of physical and psychological well-being.

  • sports clubs and associations;

  • socio-educational centres and recreational facilities;

  • tourism and hospitality facilities, holiday resorts and wellness centres;

  • healthcare and socio-educational facilities offering preventive or adapted physical activity programmes.
