Detailed Course Content
General organization of the human body and anatomical terminology. Concept of organ, apparatus and system. The Anatomical Planes
LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM: bones and skeletal muscles of the head and neck
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM: organs of the airways and lungs; pleura.
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM: oral cavity, tongue and salivary glands. Organization of the organs of the alimentary canal and the glands attached to the digestive system (salivary glands, liver and pancreas).
CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM: the heart, its cavities, valves and the structure of its wall; pericardium; small and large circulation; main vessels of the arterial and venous circulation of the head and neck. Lymphatic circulatory system: lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes
CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM: Organization of the nervous system. The sense receptors (exteroceptors, proprioceptors, enteroreceptors). Macroscopic structure of the spinal cord and brain. Organization of the meninges. The circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid.
PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM: the spinal nerves and the cranial nerves; organization and function of the vegetative nervous system.
SENSE ORGANS: organ of taste, organ of smell, eye, auditory and vestibular system.
