Expected Learning Outcomes

The course will address the principles of sports law from a private law perspective, highlighting the unique characteristics of the sports system compared to the state system. The topics covered during the course aim to provide students with the tools to acquire new, specific knowledge through the study of private law in the field of sports law. The analysis of the relationship between law and sport, and between sport and the economic aspects that permeate it, aims to enhance students' critical thinking skills.

The lessons will take place in person and will involve student engagement through the analysis of practical cases.

The legal system. Sources of law. Interpretation of the law and analogy. State and sports system. Natural persons and legal entities. Capacity and minors. Private autonomy. Obligations: general concepts. General discipline of the contract. Sports performance contract. Sports work. Liability for non-compliance. Tort liability. Sporting offenses, civil, and criminal. Sports and the third sector. Sponsorship. Image rights of professional athletes. Liability for damages in sports activities. Doping. Corruption and sports.

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

The verification will take place through a test consisting of an written exam or an oral exam with a mark out of thirty.

The exam will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Relevance of the answers to the questions posed
Quality and comprehension of the content
Ability to relate to other program topics
Ability to provide examples
Use of technical-legal language
Overall presentation skills of the student
The Professor reserves the right to consider the student's active participation in lectures and other proposed activities.
