Knowledge and understanding
Students will acquire knowledge of the principles of psychomotor rehabilitation within Occupational Therapy, with particular reference to the concept of autonomy in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) across different life contexts (home, school, work, and social environments). The use of assistive devices and assistive technologies in rehabilitation pathways will also be addressed.
Applying knowledge and understanding
Students will be able to recognize individuals’ needs for autonomy in daily activities and understand the main rehabilitation strategies, including training in ADL/IADL and the use of assistive devices and environmental adaptations.
Making judgements
Students will develop the ability to analyse the level of autonomy of individuals in different life contexts and evaluate the role of Occupational Therapy interventions in promoting participation, independence, and quality of life.
Communication skills
Students will be able to use appropriate terminology in Occupational Therapy and collaborate effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team in planning rehabilitation interventions.
Learning skills
Students will be able to further develop their knowledge of autonomy promotion and assistive technologies through independent study and consultation of scientific and professional sources.
Course Structure
