Titolo tesi: Natural Byproducts and Their Potential Anticancer Effect
Abstract: The aim of the project is to investigate the potential applications of bioactive compounds derived from natural products, specifically their therapeutic and preventive anticancer properties. Specific natural sources will be selected to identify, isolate and characterize bioactive compounds extracted from seeds, juices and plant residues, analysing their molecular mechanisms, particularly their ability to induce apoptosis, inhibit cancer cell proliferation, block metastasis, and modulate the immune response. The experimental plan involves the collection and extraction of by-products, followed by in vitro biological analysis, genomic and proteomic studies, also aimed to identify the molecular and cellular pathways involved. The project emphasizes sustainability by demonstrating efficient extraction and utilization of by-products, adding economic value to natural resources. In this way, the research lays the groundwork for future studies and potential clinical trials to support natural product-based cancer therapies.
