Il Dott. Nunzio Vicario è nato a Catania il 18 Settembre 1989 ed è Ricercatore per il Settore Scientifico Disciplinare BIO/09 – Fisiologia presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Biomediche e Biotecnologiche dell’Università di Catania, dove è stato assegnista di ricerca presso la Sezione di Fisiologia.

Si è laureato in Chimica e Tecnologia Farmaceutiche (C.T.F.) nel 2014 presso il Dipartimento di Scienze del Farmaco dell’Università di Catania. Ha conseguito il Ph.D. Internazionale in Neuroscienze nel 2017 presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Biomediche e Biotecnologiche dell’Università di Catania ed è stato visiting (2016-2017) presso il Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge (UK).

I suoi principali interessi ricadono nell’ambito dei processi di neuroinfiammazione e neurodegenerazione, con particolare attenzione alla comunicazione intercellulare ed ai meccanismi endogeni ed esogeni di compensazione o rigenerazione.

È membro dell’Associazione di Biologia Cellulare e del Differenziamento (ABCD) e della Società Italiana di Fisiologia (SIF).
