Expected Learning Outcomes

Given that the subject is divided into two parts, practical and theoretical, the required skills are:
- General knowledge of the history of individual sports;

- General knowledge of sports federations, sports promotion bodies, their organization and functioning

- Knowledge of general pre-athletics

- Ability to organize practical activities to develop coordination skills, general pre-athletics, stretching, strength circuits

- Knowledge of conditional skills: Strength, Endurance, Speed

- Knowledge of energy systems applied to various individual sports

- Knowledge of the rules of the main individual sports: Track and Field, Tennis, Fencing, Swimming

- Knowledge of the concepts of periodization, tapering, overtraining, over-icing

- Ability to organize introductory activities for running, jumping, and throwing

- Knowledge of the concepts of prevention in sports practice

- Knowledge of the psychological aspects of individual sports

Required Prerequisites

Biology and Physiology: Basic knowledge of Human Anatomy, General Physiology, and Physiology applied to sports. In particular, mastery of the concepts of bioenergetics (aerobic and anaerobic mechanisms) and the classification of activities based on energy expenditure are essential.

Methodology and Kinesiology: Knowledge of basic motor patterns, the classification of motor skills (open and closed skills), as well as the detailed distinction between conditional abilities (strength, endurance, speed) and general and special coordination abilities.

Sports Terminology and Logic: Mastery of basic technical terminology in Sports Science, the ability to interpret technical-sports regulations, and geometric-spatial notions applied to the playing field (e.g., trajectories and angles in tennis).

Historical-Humanistic Culture: Knowledge of fundamental historical concepts related to the evolution of disciplines (for example, the cultural connection between fencing and the history of Italian and European civilization).

Physical Activity Suitability: Possession of the medical-legal requirements for practical activities and field exercises (athletics track, tennis court, fencing armory).

Basic Motor Skills: Ability to actively reproduce the pre-athletic and general dynamic coordination exercises requested by instructors during workshops.
