The course aims at providing students with the knowledge to reinforce and extend English language skills , particularly concerning the grammatical , morphological , lexical and phonological aspects of language (B1+/B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) , reading comprehension and the ability to comment on topics related to the scientific field. Entry level: B1, achievement: B1+/B2

Grammatical morphological, lexical and phonological aspects of English language (B1+/B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages); the most common elements of scientific lexicon; reading comprehension and the ability to comment on topics related to the scientific field and particularly the following topics: - The human body - Sport in Britain - The social importance of sport - Disability - Sport and food - Training: a matter of style - Designing a fitness programme - Cardiac massage - The couch potato generation - Get fit with music - The respiratory system By the end of the course, students will be able to:

Learning Assessment Procedures
The evaluation criteria are: Knowledge and understanding, Applying knowledge and understanding, Knowledge of English for Secific Purposes ( Reading comprehension and the ability to comment on topics related to the scientific field), Making judgements, Communication skills, Learning skills.The final mark of the course will be derived from the average of the marks obtained in the two parts (Written exam and Oral exam)
