Expected Learning Outcomes

The course aims at providing students with the knowledge to reinforce and extend English language skills , particularly concerning the grammatical , morphological , lexical and phonological aspects of language (B1+/B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) , reading comprehension and the ability to comment on topics related to the scientific field.

Detailed Course Content

Grammatical morphological, lexical and phonological aspects of English language (B1+/B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages); the most common elements of scientific lexicon; reading comprehension and the ability to comment on topics related to the scientific field and particularly the following topics:

  • The human body
  • Disability
  • Sport and food
  • Health education
  • The skeletal system
  • The nervous system
  • The respiratory system
  • The circulatory system
  • The anatomy of the locomotor system

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • express opinions
  • recognize grammatical and syntactical structures;
  • recount present, past and future events,
  • recognize and use the most common elements of scientific lexicon;
  • read, analize and comment on scientific texts;
  • sum up information found in texts;
