Expected Learning Outcomes

Approach psychology, through its history, the main figures and the issues addressed over time by psychologists to provide an increasingly complete vision of psychic functioning. Learn useful knowledge to optimize the relationship with patients and in managing the care relationship. Learn useful elements for identifying and managing one's own and other people's emotions. Know the main processes and functions through which human behavior manifests itself.

Through frontal lessons, with student involvement in the discussion of the main themes.

Required Prerequisites

Ability to listen and willingness to pay empathetic attention to others. Curiosity and active desire to open up to new knowledge.

History of psychology. Main authors. Development theories. Relationships between psychology and other sciences. Models of how the mind works. Subjective variables and relational variables. The body and its dynamics. The doctor-patient relationship. The role of the environment in the formation of the individual. Maternal and paternal functions.
